Taunton Police

This is a photograph of Patrolman James J. "Buck" Reilly working the traffic island on the northeast corner of the Taunton Green circa 1935. The photograph was taken by his nephew Charles J. Hoye. Buck was appointed as a reserve officer in June 1924, and became a full time officer in 1934. He died of a heart attack walking to work on November 4, 1939.
